Top Fantasy Kickers 2007

Preseason Ranking of the Top 20 Kickers for 2007

Squeeze a few more points out of your fantasy football team's kicking game--it could be just what you need for that league title!

When it comes to ranking kickers, there is a lot of fluctuation from year to year, but we can start by targeting juggernaut offenses that will produce the most opportunities for field goals and extra points. A kicker's reputation for accuracy is worth something, too. Also, don't forget to consider the defense the kickers match up against from week to week--sometimes that matters more than anything.

  1. Adam Vinatieri, Indianapolis Colts - killer accuracy on a team that lights up the scoreboard. What more could you want?
  2. Nate Kaeding, San Diego Chargers - the only problem is LaDainian Tomlinson putting it in the end zone so often there are fewer field goal opportunities.
  3. Jeff Wilkins, St. Louis Rams - he's on a potent offense and can really hit the long ball.
  4. Robbie Gould, Chicago Bears - racks up the points with the Bears, but he has yet to try one over fifty yards.
  5. Jason Elam, Denver Broncos - sure, he has the Mile-High advantage, but he's also just plain good. Mark him down for 120 points again.
  6. Shayne Graham, Cincinnati Bengals - consistently tops the century mark in points each season.
  7. Neil Rackers, Arizona Cardinals - if he finds the range again, he could return to those gaudy numbers of 2005.
  8. Jason Hanson, Detroit Lions - the Lions add super rookie Calvin Johnson to an improving offense.
  9. Josh Brown, Seattle Seahawks - inconsistent, but plenty of opportunities for scoring should be there.
  10. David Akers, Philadelphia Eagles - Donovan McNabb should connect many times with Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis, helping Akers snap out of his two-year funk.
  11. Josh Scobee, Jacksonville Jaguars - hasn't established much range but should continue to make Scobee snacks out of the short stuff.
  12. Matt Stover, Baltimore Ravens - has been money from under fifty yards the past few years.
  13. John Kasay, Carolina Panthers - has had more ups than downs lately.
  14. Stephen Gostkowski, New England Patriots - solid rookie year. How will he fare when he faces a field goal attempt longer than his name?
  15. Olindo Mare, New Orleans Saints - has had a lackluster second half of his career, but he moves to a better offense.
  16. Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh Steelers - hasn't scored under 100 points since his first year.
  17. Lawrence Tynes, New York Giants - the move from Kansas City shouldn't change his value much.
  18. Joe Nedney, San Francisco 49ers - part of an improving offense in a weak division.
  19. Rian Lindell, Buffalo Bills - accuracy has improved the last few years.
  20. Rob Bironas, Tennessee Titans - at least he played in all 16 games last year.
