Three picks for Week Two in the NFL.

Don’t send in your bets without checking out this week’s picks in the Parlay Helper. After an even Week One, the Parlay Helper looks to improve this week with some strong picks.

Miami +4 vs. Dallas

The Cowboys are coming off a win over the Giants on Sunday night, but there are some red flags going into this week’s game. The defense gave up 35 points to Eli Manning and company last week, and may be in for another long week with more injuries. The Dallas front seven will miss nose tackle Jason Ferguson, who was put on IR, and linebacker Greg Ellis, the veteran who has led Dallas in sacks five times. The Cowboys invested a lot in Ferguson and groomed him for the nose tackle spot. With him out, the Cowboys will be considerably softer up the middle. Also, the secondary will struggle if Terence Newman doesn’t return from his foot injury. Terry Glenn’s absence takes away the Cowboys main deep threat on offense.

The Dolphins are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss against Washington and will be hungry for a win. The banged-up defense of Dallas is just what the doctor ordered for Trent Green and Ronnie Brown. The Miami defense played well against the Redskins, and they should have another strong effort this weekend. Take the home dog.

Under 42 ½ Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions

The inexperienced Minnesota offense is on the road in Week Two, and that isn’t a good thing for Brad Childress’ team. This will only be Tarvaris Jackson’s fourth career start, and rookie Adrian Peterson’s second game. Chester Taylor, the Vikings' other RB, won't be 100% for this one. The good news for Childress is that his defense played great in its first game, and will cause lots of problems for the Lions. Jon Kitna struggled last season vs. the Vikings defense; he threw for six interceptions last season in the two games against Minnesota. Kitna’s QB rating in those two games was 48.2 and 66.5. The Lions offense will come back to earth, after exploding against the Raiders. Expect a low-scoring game. Take the under.

Atlanta Falcons +10 ½ @ Jacksonville Jaguars

You don’t want to be giving 10 ½ points when you only scored 10 points the week before. That’s why the Falcons are the play here. Jacksonville’s defense is strong, but their offense won’t put up many points. The Falcons offense isn’t as bad as it showed in Week One. The Falcons will only have to score a couple of times to cover this one, and they are more than capable of that. Take Atlanta.
