The Eagles are looking to acquire a big play wide receiver to complement DeSean Jackson. Chad Ocho Cinco may be on his way out of Cincinnati.

Chad Ocho Cinco may be finding a new home in the "City of Brotherly Love" very soon. The Eagles have a need for a wide receiver and with draft day looming in just over a week it might make sense for the two to pair up.

Ocho Cinco Trade Rumor

ESPN's Michael Smith stated on NFL Live that he has heard rumors that the Eagles have interest in Bengals wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco. Smith reported: "I am hearing there is interest in Chad Johnson. Now there's been some back and forth as to whether or not he is officially on the market. I think everybody in Cincinnati has signed off on moving Chad Johnson except for owner Mike Brown. The Eagles could be in the picture. They have two first-round picks. They need a receiver."

The other name Smith threw out was Bills offensive tackle Jason Peters. According to Smith, the Eagles have "engaged in serious discussions" with the Bills about his services. Those talks could heat up again as the draft approaches. Remember, Smith reported earlier this offseason that Donovan McNabb had met with Eagles management and wanted to see what weapons the Eagles would add before looking at a contract extension.

Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receivers

Whether Eagles fans would criticize such a deal remains to be seen. After all, Terrell Owens succeeded for a period of time in Philadelphia.

Before he went ballistic in an Eagles jersey, T.O. was loved and adored by a vast majority of hardcore fans. They, of course, as every NFL fan base do, turned on him when he turned on McNabb and the rest of his team. If Ocho Cinco were to produce, he would be revered by the fans, particularly if he's the missing link on the offense. For the most part, wideouts who excel are not inhibited. That is part of their make-up and what makes them fearless both in open and crowded spaces.

Ocho Cinco holds the Bengals all-time records for receiving yards in a season, receiving yards in a season, receiving touchdowns in a season, most touchdowns in one game, and most seasons with over 1000 yards receiving.

Ocho Cinco and McNabb

Coach Andy Reid has had only two 1000-yard receivers in his tenure with the Eagles. Considering Reid's proclivity to want quarterback Donovan McNabb to pass, Ocho Cinco could fit in well with the offense. As long as Ocho Cinco does not disrupt team chemistry, even at this stage in his career, he may prove to be a valuable asset for the Eagles.
