Look for games to tighten up as Fall weather and injuries start to take their toll. The unbeaten teams will have larger and larger targets on their backs every week.
Last Week: 9-4, Season 56-26. Arizona Cardinals at Chicago BearsArizona was manhandled by the Panthers in week 8, and that should provide enough of a blue print for the Bears to focus on a tough ground game and pass rush. Arizona is a good team, and usually good teams won’t drop two in a row, but the Bears are solid, at home, and starting to gel. Chicago 24, Arizona 19. Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati BengalsToss out the win against the Bears, and the Bengals have been close at the end of every game. Baltimore continues to impress, and will benefit more from their drubbing of the Broncos than the Bengals drubbing of the Bears. Baltimore 29, Cincinnati 27. Detroit Lions at Seattle SeahawksReally, Detroit? You couldn’t beat the Rams at home? Really? Seattle 35, Detroit 17. Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay BuccaneersGreen Bay is nicked up and licking their wounds after an emotionally charged game against the Vikings. Some sunny weather and a team returning from England should be just what the doctor ordered. Green Bay 28, Tampa Bay 10. Houston Texans at Indianapolis ColtsThe Colts are going to find it tougher to win each week as the pressure increase and other teams step up their game against them. This should translate into tighter margins the rest of the season for the Colts. Houston should still be no challenge for Peyton. Indianapolis 30, Houston 16. Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville JaguarsJacksonville was embarrassed last week against a winless Titans team. Don’t expect a repeat after a week of practice and some home cooking. Jacksonville 22, Kansas City 11. Miami Dolphins at New England PatriotsThere’s simply no way that Bill Belichick won’t have Chad Henne’s brain mush by halftime. New England 44, Miami 20. Washington Redskins at Atlanta FalconsIs there any way to just automatically pick against the Redskins for the rest of the season? Hey, Daniel Snyder- even the Browns have figured out how to fire people! Atlanta 31, Washington 17. Tennessee Titans at San Francisco 49ersA win is just what the Titans needed, and the 49ers are starting to look like pretenders. All the pressure is on a young 49er team to start to win, and they won’t be able to handle it. Tennessee found a way to win last week, and are playing with house money. Look for the relaxed Titans to beat down the nervous Niners. Tennessee 28, San Francisco 13. Carolina Panthers at New Orleans SaintsThis could be the week the Saints finally lose one, but the Panthers haven’t shown enough consistency to warrant picking them. Expect a close game. New Orleans 29, Carolina 25. San Diego Chargers at New York GiantsThe Giants are quickly playing themselves out of the playoff mix and the NFC East. Shockingly, they were shelled by the Eagles last week. New York is still a good team with a great coach and a solid defense. San Diego is on its’ typical “win 8 straight to finish the year” run, and the game should be close. Trust the Giants defense and realize the Chargers can be a little soft. New York 17, San Diego 14. Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia EaglesIt’s funny how the NFC East always provides big games throughout the season. Dallas and Philly are both coming off of huge games, and both look to be better teams than the rest of their division. Philly is home and destroyed the Giants, and the momentum should continue. Philadelphia 29, Dallas 19. Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos (Monday, November 9)This could be the toughest pick of the week. Pittsburgh is a team that has already ended the Vikings undefeated streak, and plays the same style as the Raven team that just whipped up on Denver. Denver’s back at home and will try to get things back on track. It’s still very difficult to see Kyle Orton beating the Steeler defense. Expect a tight game, and perhaps overtime. Pittsburgh 16, Denver 13. Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers (Thursday, November 12)The Niners are at home, but you can see the bloom coming off the rose that was a 3-0 start. The Bears are a senior team, and will prepare better for the short week. Special teams will make the difference. Chicago 23, San Francisco 22.
