At this point in the year, the cream has risen to the top and trends have been established that should continue through the rest of the NFL season.
Last Week: 10-4, Season 39-17. Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis RamsThe Rams are starting to show some signs of life, but the Colts will easily put the Rams away in what shouldn't be a close game. Indianapolis 32, St. Louis 10. San Diego Chargers at Kansas City ChiefsThe Bolts played a closer game than the score indicated against the Broncos in week 6. While the Chiefs are getting themselves up off the mat, the Chargers are far more talented than KC's last opponent. San Diego 21, Kansas City 7. San Francisco 49ers at Houston TexansThe 49ers have the talent and skills to win this game. It seems like every week is "the game" that San Fran needs to win to prove they are an elite team. So far, they've come up quite short, losing to Minnesota and Atlanta. The 49ers aren't on the level of those teams, but neither is Houston. Expect the game to be close, and the battle tested 49ers to squeak out a road win. San Francisco 22, Houston 20. Chicago Bears at Cincinnati BengalsThe Bears really need a win to keep pace with Minnesota and not fall too far behind. The Bears lost a tough one to the Atlanta Falcons in week 6, showing some vulnerability to a passing game. The Bengals are coming off a loss and have also lost Antwan Odom, the team's sack leader. Without pressure on Jay Cutler, the Bengals may have trouble with the Bears. Chicago 25, Cincinnati 20. Green Bay Packers at Cleveland BrownsThe Browns are in rebuilding mode. Again. Since 1989. Green Bay 19, Cleveland 10. Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh SteelersThis game is a possible Super Bowl preview. Favre's Vikings couldn't nail down the Ravens last week, and let them back into the game. With Big Ben holding the ball too long and Troy Polamalu roaming the secondary once again, expect a boat load of turnovers in the game. Give the win to the Steelers at home. Pittsburgh 21, Minnesota 20. New York Jets at Oakland RaidersThe big story in this game is the Jets completely unravelling. While Mark Sanchez still looks like he could be the real deal, he needs to settle down and allow the game to come to him. The Raiders, fresh off an ego-boosting mauling of the Eagles, should be flying high this week. Look for them to rough up Sanchez and steal another win from a team they shouldn't beat. Oakland 16, New York 10. Atlanta Falcons at Dallas CowboysWhile no one has much faith in the Cowboys, they are at home, and they have had two weeks to rest and prepare for the Falcons. Expect a close one. Dallas 29, Atlanta 25. Buffalo Bills at Carolina PanthersSteve Smith wants out of Carolina. Bills fans want Dick Jauron out of Buffalo. Bills fans will get their wish first. Carolina 24, Buffalo 15. New Orleans Saints at Miami DolphinsThe Saints are marching into Miami and bringing some tremendous offense with them. The Dolphins look like a true team on the rise, but this test comes too early for them. New Orleans 30, Miami 21. Arizona Cardinals at New York GiantsTom Coughlin will straighten things out this week, and Arizona is not the explosive team the Saints are. New York should be able to get back to basics and pound out a win against Arizona. New York 27, Arizona 17. Philadelphia Eagles at Washington RedskinsWith Jim "I'm Still The Coach" Zorn coaching his last game, and Sherm "I'm The Next Coach" Lewis calling the plays, the Redskins still have no shot at the Eagles. It's clear there's something very, very wrong with the Redskins, and if someone figures it out, Daniel Snyder will hire them as a coach. With a bye next week, Jim Zorn will be gone, but there's no sense the Skins are playing for his job. Philadelphia 35, Washington 20. New England Patriots at Tampa Bay BuccaneersFresh off of ruining Jeff Fisher's career, Tom Brady and the Pats head to merry old England to destroy the Buccaneers. This game should be over by the end of the first quarter. New England 44, Tampa Bay 20.
