As the National Football League moves closer to the halfway point, dominant teams are stepping up their game. Meanwhile, the pretenders are falling by the wayside.

Some of the highlights of this weeks contests include the undefeated Denver Broncos facing the offense (yes the offense) of the Baltimore Ravens. Brett Farve visits his old team in Green Bay for the first time. Number 4 is the only quarterback who has beaten all 32 teams in the league thanks to his defection to the Vikings.

NFL Matchups for Week 8

Denver at Baltimore - Denver leads the league in defense, holding teams to only ten offensive points in their first six games. The Broncos remain undefeated thanks to a bye in week seven. Also coming out of their bye week, the Ravens want to bounce back after a tough loss to Minnesota in an exciting last second contest. Denver 24 Baltimore 21

Seattle at Dallas - Hopefully, this contest will be as exciting as the playoff game in 2006 when these teams met. Seattle sent Dallas home from the playoffs where they haven't been seens since. It will be tough for Seattle who cannot seem to establish any rhythm. The Cowboys however, seem to be gelling at the right time and should win this one. Seattle 17, Dallas 31

St. Louis at Detroit - After sending their best defensive player to showcase his talents for Philedelphia Monday night, the Rams hope to upset the lowly Lions at home. Look for another yawnfest by both teams with lots of field goals and timid punting. St. Louis 3, Detroit 6

San Fransisco at Indianapolis - The Colts are also undefeated and will probably remain so, however, they can't let down like the Eagles did against the Raiders. Payton Manning will dominate against the 49ers who are currently suffering from the "Crabtree Curse" Gregg Easterbrook, Tuesday Morning Quarterback, ESPN Page 2. Indianapolis 34, San Fransisco 24

Miami at NY Jets - The AFC East champs take on their arch rival in what should prove to be an exciting game. The last time these teams met, three weeks ago, the Dolphins handed rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez his first loss in the final seconds of the game. This game should go down to the wire again in another exciting contest. Miami 38, NY Jets 31

Minnesota at Green Bay - Both quarterbacks will enter this game with someting to prove. Brett Favre wants to prove to his old fan base that he is bigger than any team, while Aaron Rodgers wants to get the monkey off his back in a head to head meeting. Minnesota 21, Green Bay 24

Houston at Buffalo - Gary Kubiak is digging deep into the playbook and should be able to guide the Texans to an easy win over Buffalo. Even the weather won't help the Bills, especially if their coach gives up on the game early. Do not look for any fourth and short attempts by Buffalo, even if they are beyond midfield. Houston 38, Buffalo 17

Cleveland at Chicago - The Bears should be able to handle the Browns at home, but Jay Cutler's erratic play may be the difference in the game. Do the Bears still have Rex Grossman available as their back up? The best thing going for Chicago is an even worse quarterback situation in Cleveland. Cleveland 17, Chicago 21

Oakland at San Diego - Despite having thrown two touch down passes this year, Oakland's Jamarcus Russell has been struggling. The young quarterback will want to prove himself after being benched in the shutout by the Jets last week. Phillip Rivers is also looking for a decent win to lift the teams spirits and stay in the playoff hunt. Oakland 10, San Diego 24

Jacksonville at Tennessee - The last of the pairings this week of forgotten teams. The Titans hope to stop their slide into obscurity. Jeff Fisher needs to string together a few wins to keep his job and may put Vince Young behind the helm. Jacksonville hopes to be able to establish a running game against the Titans lackluster defense. Jacksonville 24, Tennesee 17

Carolina at Arizona - The Jacksonville hopes A.J Feeley can ignite a spark on offense and limit the number of turnovers. The Cardinals defense want to take the Pathers out of the game early. Look for big numbers from Kurt Warner and Beanie Wells. Carolina 20, Arizona 34

NY Giants at Phildelphia - A classic NFC East rivalry pits Eli Manning against Donavan McNabb. New York has lost its last two games and the Eagles were embarrassed by the Raiders two weeks ago. The Giants are looking to put some distance between themselves and the Eagles. NY Giants 24, Philidelphia 30

Sunday Night Football

No Sunday Night Football because of the World Series that night

Monday Night Football

Atlanta at New Orleans - Another divisional game pits the undefeated Saints against the Falcons in the Superdome. Atlanta needs to try to slow down the New Orleans offense and score some points early and often. The Falcons need to establish the running game to take some of the pressure off of second year quarterback Matt Ryan. Drew Brees will show no mercy and should lead his team to 7 and 0. Atlanta 30, New Orleans 42

Bye Games This Week

Bengals, Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Buccaneers, Redskins
