Round one of the NFL playoffs will begin next weekend and there are some quality matchups on the schedule.

Many of the teams that are wild cards are actually superior or have a better record to the teams that won their respective divisions.

Upsets should be plentiful this weekend in the NFL playoffs, based on seeding at least.

NFL Playoff Bracket Picks

Here are predictions for all of the first round NFL playoff games.

Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals-

While the Falcons are most likely a superior team, the Arizona Cardinals have home field advantage, a crowd backing them hungry for a win, and a ton of talent on the offensive side of the football.

Kurt Warner might not be as talented as rookie Matt Ryan of the Falcons but he has much more playoff and NFL experience and that could help a lot in this game especially considering the crowd and how it might affect Ryan.

The Cardinals have some issues at running back where they can't decide who to start, however.

Atlanta has playmakers in Roddy White and Michael Turner who will test the Cardinals' inconsistent defense.

Prediction: The Falcons come in and play sound football and win this one on the round, 24-21.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Vikings are built the right way, as they are sound in the trenches on both sides of the ball and run the ball well with a great offensive line and Adrian Peterson at running back.

But even though Tarvaris Jackson has been playing well, the playoffs are a different animal and Philadelphia will expose him in the first round of the NFL playoffs.

Brian Westbrook will show that he is an even more dangerous all-around running back than Adrian Peterson in this game and the Eagles will win.

Prediction: The Eagles win by a score of 20-13

Indianapolis Colts at San Diego Chargers

The 8-8 Chargers host the 12-4 Colts, okay, so that makes a ton of sense.

But foolish NFL playoff rules aside, the Colts are the favorite in this game.

The Chargers are capable of pulling the upset as they've gone back to power football on offense and that could be the Colts' weakness.

Prediction: If LaDainian Tomlinson is healthy and effective, the Chargers pull the upset. If not, the Colts will win easily.

Miami Dolphins vs. Baltimore Ravens

This should be a strong NFL playoff defensive battle in the first round and the Dolphins seem to have a big edge at QB with the veteran Chad Pennington at quarterback.

This game could come down the wire and Miami will need to overcome their nerves and lack of experience to make some big plays. But it will be tough against Ed Reed, who's playing out of his mind at safety, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore will make just enough plays to win this game with its defense.

Prediction: 19-14 Baltimore in a close game that could go either way. Joe Flacco's play at QB is key for the Ravens.
