The Patriots pulled off an amazing victory after rallying at home against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. With Tom Brady back, the New England Patriots should be great.

The first Monday night football game of the 2009 NFL season saw the come-from-behind win of the Patriots over the Buffalo Bills at home in Foxborough. Although a little rusty early in the game, Tom Brady pulled it together and threw two touchdown passes within a span of a couple of minutes to win the game. Following their first win of the season, the rest of New England Patriots 2009 schedule will test them just like the Bills did, but the squad appears to have what it takes, and is certainly a likely contender to represent the AFC in the Superbowl this year. An exciting season is in store for this franchise, one of the AFC's original eight. The Patriots will be wearing different jerseys for some games this season.

New England Patriots 2009 Schedule Weeks 1-4

On the first Monday Night Football program of the season, the Patriots won over the Bills at home. On September 20, they will head to the home of the New York Jets where Brady will have to eclipse the play of the Jets' rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez, who had a great first game in the NFL. On September 27, the Pats will host the Atlanta Falcons who ran over the Dolphins in Week 1. They will then face the Ravens in Gillette Stadium (in Foxborough) on October 4, a team that defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the first week of season play.

The Next 4 Games for the Patriots in the 2009 Season

Belichick's team will head out to Denver to play the Broncos on the afternoon of October 11, which may prove to be an interesting game, as Orton and the Broncos pulled off a marvelous last second win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. The Patriots will then play the Tennessee Titans in New England on October 18, before heading to Tampa to play the Buccaneers on October 28. New England will rest the next week, but the Miami Dolphins will be coming to town on November 8 to try their luck against the Patriots.

Games 9-12 for the Patriots in the 2009 Season

New England will play a tough Colts team led by quarterback Peyton Manning on the night of November 15. After that, the Patriots will play the New York Jets a second time on November 22, but it will be in Foxborough this time. On the Monday night game of the next week (November 30) the Patriots will play in New Orleans, and the following Sunday night the team will play the Dolphins in Miami.

Final Games of the New England Patriots Schedule in 2009

On December 13, the Patriots will play at home against the Carolina Panthers, and the following week, on December 20, the Bills hope to exact their revenge for their Week 1 loss to New England, but this one will be in Buffalo. Two days after Christmas, the Jaguars will travel up from Jacksonville. The final game of the New England Patriots 2009 schedule will send the squad to Houston, to play the Texans, which will take place on the third day in 2010.

In the first game of the season, Tom Brady found his groove again, and connected with Randy Moss and Wes Welker several times, and he also found Ben Watson for a couple of last minute touchdowns to win the game. The defense played well for the most part, although crucial penalties really helped the Bills' offense. The rest of the season should be intense, especially with the return of Tom Brady to the Patriots.
