Key AFC InjuriesInjuries That Could Affect Your Team In Week 3
Around the league, injuries have been a serious problem this year, and the injury bug has not been discriminatory this year. Several star players remain injured.
These are injuries to look out for as they could hurt your team's chances on Sunday. AFC East InjuriesBuffalo Bills The Bills have managed to stay relatively healthy. kick returner Roscoe Parrish has a banged up knee and sore ribs, but is expected to play. Miami Dolphins The Dolphins are also pretty well set in terms of injuries, with no one on Wednesday's injury list. New England Patriots On top of the obvious injuries, neither Laurence Maroney, nor LaMont Jordan practiced Wednesday, which could mean Sammy Morris gets the start on Sunday. Ben Watson is still a question mark with a knee injury, as is Jabar Gaffney, limiting Matt Cassel's options in the passing game. New York Jets Laveranues Coles has a thigh injury and has been limited in practice, but is expected to play. Mike Nugent remains shelved with a shoulder injury, meaning Jay Feely will hold a job for another week. Defensive End Shaun Ellis is questionable with an injured hand. He was questionable last week as well, but he played. AFC North InjuriesBaltimore RavensTodd Heap and Willis McGahee are both expected to make returns this week from injuries. Defensively, starting nose tackle Kelly Gregg is still doubtful with a knee injury. Demetrius Williams, who missed Week 2 with a bad hamstring, is questionable, but is expected to play. Cincinnati Bengals The Bengals are healthy for the most part, which is unfortunate. At least they could have used injury as an excuse for their poor play. Starting strong safety Dexter Jackson remains out with a bad thumb. Carson Palmer reportedly has a sore ankle, but there's no way he doesn't play. Of course, that doesn't mean he'll play well, either. Cleveland Browns Problems all over the receiving corps for the Browns. Donte' Stallworth still hasn't played with his famous balky hamstring and Braylon Edwards suddenly has a shoulder injury. The shoulder probably won't keep him from playing but coudl be a factor in a difficult matchup with the physical Ravens. Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger is still nursing a shoulder injury, but it certainly didn't seem to affect his arm strength in Week 2. He's not in any danger of missing a start. AFC South Injuries Houston Texans Ahman Green still appears unable to play with a high ankle sprain. Word is the team doesn't expect him back anytime soon. Indianapolis ColtsDallas Clark looks to be ok to start Week 3 despite missing Week 2 and not practicing Wednesday and the Colts expect Jeff Saturday back at center. The offensive line was a major problem for the Colts last week, so getting Saturday back is a must. Bob Sanders' injury is a major blow to the defense. He would be so much more valuable to his team if he could stay healthy. Jacksonville Jaguars Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew are both on the injury list with toe and ankle injuries, respectively, but neither seems like they're going to miss time. Tennessee Titans Vince Young is still sidelined and has now officially been replaced by Kerry Collins on the depth chart. Justin Gage's groin injury is something to watch out for, as he's been the team's most productive receiver. AFC West InjuriesThe Broncos don't appear to have any serious injuries. Eddie Royal had a sore ankle in Week 2, but still produced. No reason to think he won't again this week. Denver Broncos Kansas City ChiefsAccording to the team, Damon Huard is healthy, but Tyler Thigpen will start anyway. Patrick Surtain has already been listed as out because of what is being called a bruised shoulder. Sounds fishy and it is probably something worse. San Diego ChargersLaDainian Tomlinson's toe remains a major concern after touching the ball just 12 times and sitting out practice Wednesday. Still, he says he's feeling much better. Shaun Phillips (strained groin) and Clinton Hart (broken hand) both expect to play and Antonio Gates is no longer lsited on the injury report. Oakland RaidersStarting tailback Justin Fargas doesn't seem likely to play for a few weeks. Darren McFadden is complaining of turf toe, but with Fargas out, he's pretty much a lock to play. Javon Walker is still battling his hamstring problems and might not play. His desire to play has been questioned all preseason and this certianly doesn't help.
