Brett Favre Will Have Another Comeback

Former Packers QB Likely To Play Football Again

After the New York Jets released QB Favre and took him off their reserve-retired list, it's more than likely Favre will come back to the NFL.

The New York Jets have officially released former Green Bay Packers QB legend Brett Favre and have taken him and his contract off their reserve-retired list. What does this mean? More than likely another Favre-filled summer of ‘will he or won’t he comeback’ stories. And his eventual statement saying that he is coming back.

The rumors of Favre’s return won’t stop until week one of the 2009 NFL season starts and Favre isn’t in a uniform and playing football. A betting man might want to bet that Favre will be playing again. He can’t get football out of his system and he can't be faulted for that. It would be nice if he just came out and said it today instead of making fans wait all summer.

Favre’s Agent Says Comeback Unlikely

Now, Favre’s agent, Bus Cook has already stated to the media that Brett Favre has no intentions of un-retiring to come back and throw the ole’ pigskin around. Of course that didn’t stop Favre from deciding to un-retire last season and accept a trade to the New York Jets.

Favre says he’s content just living on his ranch in Mississippi and doing normal everyday things that people who don’t play football do, like watch TV and pig out on junk food. But if that were the case he would have stayed un-retired last year. Favre has a desire to play football because he knows that he can still play at a high level. And it’s hard to sit around and do nothing when he could be on the field running away from Justin Tuck or Vince Wilfork.

Revenge A Motivation for Favre?

Fans know that relations between Green Bay GM Ted Thompson and Brett Favre didn’t end well last year and what better way for Favre to exact revenge than coming back and signing with the Minnesota Vikings? Vikings owner Zygi Wilf has said that he has no intentions of signing Favre. But there’s a certain head coach in Minnesota that might be trying his hardest to convince the owner that they need Favre even though they traded for Sage Rosenfels.

While Favre won’t come out and say that he wants revenge against Thompson, he would relish the opportunity to play the Packers twice and show them what they are missing out on by letting him go and choosing the young-armed Aaron Rodgers to lead the way instead.

Whether Favre comes back or not, look forward to an off-season of Brett Favre rumors that will make you wish the Jets never released him.
